"Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage." -Anais Nin
Courage to me is not about being fearless. Courage is being scared shitless and doing it anyway. Courage is your palms sweating, your heart racing, your throat closing up, and your brain screaming "don't do it!"
But your heart whispers "you must."
And so you do.
Courage is failing. Courage is falling flat on your face and feeling like you'll never be able to walk again. But somehow you do. It takes courage to find your legs again. To stand up. To take your first timid steps. To trust that your legs won't buckle, because sometimes they do. And you fall right back down harder than before. And this time you think it won't hurt as much because you've been here with dirt in your mouth before, but somehow it hurts 10 times more. It hurts so much you're convinced there's no getting back up.
But you get up.
Over and over again.
